Technically, all the houseboats have "cabins", so they totally belong on this list! Named Minnesota Resort of the year in 1998 and 2012 by the Minnesota Resort Association, grab a fishing rod, swimsuit, and gang of family or friends and heat to Timber Bay Lodge! From your mobile accommodation you can fish, swim, or simply enjoy the beautiful weather. On shore you can go on a hike through the Norway Pine forests or bike to Babbitt on one of the many paved trails (bicycles are available at the resort at no charge). Highlights

Rising Eagle's quiet and private location allows for the sighting of the many different animals and birds among us, including bald eagles! On the lake, common loons, blue herrings, pelicans, wood ducks, mallards, and Canadian geese are seen throughout the fishing season. Swans are seen swimming in the early spring as the lake begins to thaw out.
