When it comes to a rich historical background, it’s hard to find anything better than Hudson Valley. The Hudson River has just recently celebrated 400 years of history since it was navigated by Henry Hudson in 1609. It became the principle navigation during the 17th and 18th century, and during the Revolutionary War, several key and decisive battles were fought on the banks and helped secure independence for the country. A number of influential and famous families have also made their home in the Hudson Valley, including the Vanderbilts, the Rockefellers, and the famous Franklin Roosevelt. Their grand country estates and the towns that they built up still remain for the public to enjoy. Afterwards, stay at a western ranch built in 1958 with the Rocking Horse Ranch Resort, or take a trip to a Victorian Castle built in the 19th century with the Mohonk Mountain Resort. A historical adventure awaits you in the Hudson Valley that you won’t soon forget.
