On the edge of an immaculate lake sits a resort, timeless in its quality, hospitality, and personality. Clearwater Historic Lodge and Canoe Outfitters, founded in 1915, is that resort. It's also listed on the National Historic Register. How’s that for a selling point?

Right on the banks of beautiful Clearwater Lake, the shoreline is unspoiled and absolutely pristine. Hitting the beach for some R&R is fun, but as Clearwater proudly states, paddling is the Lodge’s passion. They are happy to offer their guests the ability to select exactly what they’d like to rent, or, for the less-experienced, offer packages full of everything a novice canoer might need. Helpful advice is complimentary- just ask and the friendly staff will do everything they can to give you the correct answer. Clearwater knows the Boundary Waters are glorious- let them show you why!

They promise quality from their rentals; your canoe isn’t going to spring a leak midway through the adventure. Reliability goes a long way in the wilderness, and Moose Tracks Adventures’ history of quality service and great products is a huge plus. Also, with a relatively small number of lodging options (five lakeside cabins and one cabin with a lake view), you know you’re going to receive the absolute best in personal service and care. As they state on their website, “...it’s high time you surrounded yourself by all the beauty Ely has to offer in a cabin near the shore, with a fishing pole in your hand and nature at every turn…” If you agree, Moose Tracks Adventures is the place for you.

Ely is well-known as the gateway to the legendary Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota. For decades, resorts and lodges have popped up in the area to take advantage of this, offering outfitting and lodging that is often not adequate to what the soon-to-be-adventurers want and deserve. Timber Trail Lodge is not one of those lodges. Timber Trail has been enchanting and delighting guests since 1939.

Timber Trail Lodge knows how amazing an experience the Boundary Waters can be, and wants to make sure you’re well-prepared for the expedition. The Lodge itself sits on the south shore of Farm Lake, one of four interconnected lakes in the area. All offer both motorized boating and Boundary Waters canoeing experiences, if you’re so inclined. They also offer packages for families, fishermen, non-profit groups, and adventurers of any skill level. If you’re nervous about screwing something up on your expedition, the knowledgeable staff will help you plan a route, give you information on the best fishing spots, and offer canoe and tent rentals at bargain prices.
