2018 marked the 60th year anniversary of the Jackson’s Lodge “family tradition.” The Jacksons as a family represent three generations of Vermonters growing-up, living, and prospering in the remote U.S/Canada border-community of Canaan, alongside the Connecticut River and northernmost New Hampshire. The Jackson’s legacy is rooted in logging, sugaring, and large land holdings. Their success is attributed to their core commitment to “support local.” To this very day, regarding every acquisition and or investment consideration, the priority of Jackson’s Lodge and Log Cabin Village is to search for and procure locally-sourced goods and services. Jackson’s Lodge kindly asks that their guests, having an affinity for the "Northeast Kingdom," spread their visitor-dollars within this tiny marketplace. In this spirit of good will, Jackson’s Lodge invites you to support Jackson’s Lodge mission of offering genuine hospitality and maintaining their 5-star average rating from their guests. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind getaway today!

Exterior view of Jackson's Lodge and Log Cabins. In the 1920s, a local U.S. Customs Officer, Harry Marshall, built on the shores of international "Lake Wallis" in Canaan, Vermont, what is known today as Jackson’s Lodge and Log Cabin Village. Harry, not surprisingly, named his lodge and cabins “The Marshall Camps,” which offered fishermen and their families rest and relaxation while they enjoyed some of the best trout and landlocked salmon fishing in all of New England. The lodge and area is fabled for its bootlegging legacy during the era of prohibition. In the 1950s, the lakeside cabins did not have kitchens; instead the "American plan" was served to the guests. In 2007, Jackson’s Café was reopened, along with the original tablecloths (today protected under glass) and original memorabilia reminiscent of early bygone days. Jackson's Lodge celebrated their 60th year of family tradition in 2018. Today, you can come experience this one-of-a-kind getaway for yourself and enjoy their genuine hospitality and why guests honor them with a 5-star average rating!

Lakeside log cabins, wayfarer rooms, and four-season houses at historic Jackson’s Lodge combine a rustic and relaxing family-friendly atmosphere with all the modern necessities needed during your vacation. Some cabins were built in the 1920s, utilizing time-honored log construction. Large logs forming the exterior walls are exposed on the interior creating a truly rustic ambiance. Newer cabins, although similar in appearance to the “authentic” log cabins, boast warm pine-board interiors. Jackson’s pet-friendly cabins and houses (wayfarer rooms pet-free) are meticulously maintained and feature fully-equipped kitchen with everything needed to make great meals, a living room and dining area, two or three bedrooms, full bath, linens and towels, screened porch, and a picnic table and barbecue grill. The houses include master bedroom and bath, fireplace, secure wireless internet, and washer/dryer facilities. Since cabins are maintained in their original rustic and non-technological Vermont charm, you can head to the main lodge to find a HDTV, complimentary land-line telephone, and free wireless internet for the “rurally-challenged” guests who choose to stay in touch with the rest of the world. From the moment you arrive to when you leave, you will be greeted with Jackson's warm hospitality that only adds to their 5-star average guest rating. This is truly everything you're looking for in a unique vacation experience!
