The deck runs along the river and surrounds the lodge on three sides to provide great space for receptions and reunions. A grassy area is perfect for playing, and you'll love the a fire pit, bath house, and bunk houses. In all, there are 17 undeveloped acres for guests to explore. Their staff is happy to help guests find and plan the perfect activities and the surrounding area offers plenty of options! Although there are many local dining options, Rivers Ridge Lodge's property manager will cater an event or vacation upon request or help guests find other caterers. Rivers Ridge Lodge features 3,000 feet of its own river frontage along the Crooked Creek, a branch off of the Catawba River. Seventeen acres are bounded by this 3,000 feet of river frontage; perfect for all those fly fishing excursions you wish to take! Nearby, there are many other waters to explore. Old Fort participates in the Mountain Heritage Trout Waters program, which allows new anglers to borrow a rod and reel for the day through the Mountain Heritage program right in downtown Old Fort at the Mountain Gateway Museum. Nearby public waters include Curtis Creek, Mill Creek, and Catawba River. There are loads of native rainbow trout in the river to reel in!

Less than ten minutes from Rivers Ridge Lodge is the beautiful Old Fort Golf Course. This short, yet beautiful nine-hole course offers stunning scenery to backdrop against your play. No matter your golf skill level, this course is sure to entertain!
