USA Today described Taos as “A guy’s escape with a real tinge of culture and history, coupled with a legit mountain, Taos hits on all cylinders” when it named the city a “Top Guy Ski Trip” resort town. However, Taos is not just a great travel destination for men. Taos Pueblo is the only living Native American community designated both a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and a National Historic Landmark. The multi-storied adobe dwellings that highlight the desert landscape have been continuously inhabited for over 1,000 years. One of the many ways to explore the majestic beauty of Taos is by hot air balloon. The state of New Mexico is known for this form of travel, and it is a great way to see the mesas and wildly dynamic geography you will only find in Taos. Miles of well-kept trails allow you to get an up-close view of the flora and fauna that make this area unique. The Taos Ski Valley provides plenty of thrills for downhill lovers of all skill levels.
