Albion State Normal School was established in 1893 by the Idaho State Legislator. The school offered a two-year teacher training program until 1947 when it was renamed Southern Idaho College of Education (SICE) and awarded baccalaureate degrees. SICE awarded approximately 6,460 degrees and the campus remained vacant until 1957 when the Magic Valley Christian College opened at the site, and later closed in 1969. In 2007 the City of Albion auctioned it and the Mortensen family purchased it to create what is now the Albion Campus Retreat!

Albion Campus Retreat features the President's Cottage, a 1930 cottage built for the Albion Normal School president. This beautiful cottage features six bedrooms and sleeps up to 15 guests. It's three bathrooms, kitchen, living room space, private deck, and hot tub, are ideal amenities for any family reunion or group getaway!
