The Main Inn, which was originally called the Clinton Building, was built in 1920, and you can probably guess when the 1865 House was built. The 1865 House was originally built and owned by George W. The property was eventually constructed into a hotel in 1969.

Connecticut's best fireworks show can be seen only 10 miles from Whaler's Inn. Yearly, on Independence Day, Sailfest in New London puts on quite the display.
