Along the southernmost rim of the Mono Basin, the route loops away for 16 miles, and returns, following a horseshoe-shaped canyon containing four lakes and a dramatic mountain backdrop. Within this canyon, among the lakes and streams, there are opportunities for varied activities including swimming, boating and water skiing, wake boarding, sailing and sailboarding, bicycling, canoeing,rock climbing,art and photography,scenic drives or just plain relaxing in a tranquil mountain setting.
