The Quinta de S. Caetano is part of the "Turismo de Habitação" network which comprises manor houses and palaces that have been renovated to receive tourists. The Quinta is one of the most renowned properties in the Viseu region. It served as residence to the Viscountess of St. Caetano and it is the setting of the novel "Eugénia e Silvina", written by a prominent contemporary Portuguese writer, Agustina Bessa Luís. Its location, overlooking the Estrela mountain and close to the Old Town and to the shopping district, is unique.
