Originally called the Hotel Cavell, the hotel was later renamed Astoria in reference to the river that flows out of the Tonquin Valley and into the Athabasca. The hotel was owned by Paul Andrew, but was later purchased by his brother, George, in 1944. George continued to run the hotel and established the Astoria as a popular Jasper destination. Today, the Astoria Hotel is still owned and operated by the Andrew family!

In 1944, George Arthur Andrew moved from Banff to Jasper and purchased the Astoria Hotel establishing a reputable family innkeeping business. This boutique hotel continues to exude the comfort and charm, while providing a terrific homelike atmosphere. You'll notice historical furnishings and trinkets throughout the hotel, lending to the classic ambiance you'll only find here!
