A Nature Lover's Paradise. Castle Mountain.

Midway between Banff and Lake Louise, at the foot of Banff National Park’s Castle Mountain, you'll find the snow-capped chalets of Castle Mountain Village. Reminiscent of the late 1800’s Gold Rush and Canadian Pacific Railway, Castle Mountain continues to be a destination spot for the cargo and passenger trains responsible for its initial settlement. In a secluded mountain setting and still just 20 minutes to both Banff and Lake Louise, the chalets are perfect platforms for touring, hiking, fishing, and skiing.

Cabins, Cottages, and Chalets
Whether you're spending time at Castle Mountain Chalets with your family or escaping to Banff from the city with friends, you can’t escape to a better place than Castle Mountain! Rent a mountain bike or snowshoes right from the resort, and enjoy the mountain trails year round! Three area cross-country ski trails will keep you snowbound.

It is home to large species of grizzly and black bears, mountain caribou, elk, moose and wolves. It's also home to smaller habitat including marmots, pikas, and Columbian ground squirrels, and a variety of birds, featuring the bald eagles and the endangered harlequin ducks. The best times of year to visit Banff if you're looking for wildlife to view are in early spring or in fall.
