Welcome to South County

South County’s endless 100 miles of coastline guarantee sunny and sandy days! The county’s beaches offer up a variety of fun from surfing the smooth waves of Narragansett Town Beach, digging for clams on Blue Shutters Town Beach or watching the sunset on East Beach, often considered one of New England’s most beautiful. Inland South County provides some of the state’s most historic spots. Tour the Hale House in South Kingstown to see the stomping grounds of American author Edward Everett Hale. Or, stop by the Gilbert Stuart Birthplace and Museum in North Kingstown. Home to the artist who painted the iconic George Washington portrait appearing on the American one dollar bill, this was also the site of America’s first snuff mill. The coast is calling in South County, Rhode Island!
