Welcome to Lower Middle Tennessee

Tennessee’s Lower Middle region loves to celebrate and wants you to join! Home to numerous celebrations honoring animals of the four-legged variety, the city of Columbia’s Mule Day is one of the most surprising. Square dancing, crafts and even mule racing fill this four-day annual festival. Columbia is also home to the James K. Polk House. Tour the historic grounds to learn about America’s 11th president. The Goats, Music and More festival in Lewisburg pays tribute to the unusual “fainting goat,” while a visit to the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration in Shelbyville can’t be missed. And, before you go, celebrate the golden age of aviation at the Beechcraft Heritage Museum in Tullahoma. Help celebrate in Tennessee’s Lower Middle region!
