During your stay at Heston's Lodge, spend some time fishing on Gunflint Lake. The lake is teeming with walleye, lake trout, northern pike and smallmouth bass. Take the whole family out in a boat, or enjoy a quiet afternoon to yourself. If traveling during the colder months, drill a hole into the the frozen ground and go ice fishing - trout season opens in mid-January! You could catch a record breaking fish! Then, retire to your cabin for a good night's sleep.
Explore the winter paradise of Heston's Lodge with over 75 kilometers of cross-country ski trails beginning right at the property. Groomed with a Pisten-Bully groomer, the season typically lasts from late December to well into March. An Upper Gunflint Trail ski pass is required, which is available right in the lodge.
Gunflint Lake offers so much to enhance your vacation experience at Heston's Lodge. The kids will love swimming or building sandcastles on the beach, even hopping aboard a boat for their first ever fishing trip! For something a little more relaxing, just unwind on the shore with a picnic and a good book. The waters of Gunflint Lake also provide beautiful views for guests to enjoy!

Each of the cabins at Heston's Lodge are fully outfitted for housekeeping, and feature kitchens, microwaves, refrigerators, and some even have fire pits! Aside from the White Pine Cabin, which features one bedroom and a sleeping loft, each has two or three bedrooms. These secluded cabins are the perfect shelter after a day of wilderness exploration.
