Enjoy plenty of sightings of local wildlife at the Bamfield Lodge! Sightings of bald eagles, blue herons, kingfishers, cormorants, crows, ravens, gulls, loons and a variety of other birds and ducks are common. Otters, seals, sea lions, sea stars, and occasionally a whale can also be seen from the boardwalk.
With a huge variety of freshwater and saltwater fish and so many stellar settings to choose from, you really can catch the big one in the Vancouver Island region. If you’re a freshwater angler, you’ll love the hundreds of crystal-clear streams and lakes throughout the region.
