Rick Behr is one of the most experienced hot-air balloon pilots in the world today with more than 4,000 hours of air time in his log. He recently received an honorable award from the Balloon Federation of America for 40 years of safe flying. Before coming to the Boar's Head Resort in 1981, Rick was chief pilot for the Bombard Society, the most prestigious ballooning business in the world, and has personally flown over 25,000 passengers.

 

Rick’s take-off point is just steps from your hotel room at the Boar’s Head Balloon Field. A typical flight path sails over the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains where it is often possible to see Monticello, the Shenandoah Valley and surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.
