This 3-night/4-day all inclusive package for 2 includes a 1-day grizzly bear watching excursion by boat, a guided nature day hike into Strathcona Park as well as all gourmet meals during your stay and enough time to relax in our spa between your adventures.
You will arrive in the afternoon, meet your hosts Martina and Max, settle into your cozy ocean view room and enjoy a 3-course dinner with a view of the mountains across Georgia Strait. After a good night's rest, sit down with us for a nutritious breakfast before we take you on a 45 min scenic drive to Campbell River where you will meet your skipper and wildlife guide who will then take you on an 8-hour excursion to find the mighty grizzly in Bute Inlet. You will take a breathtaking boat trip through Desolation Sound, look for orcas and other marine life along the way before you arrive in rugged Bute Inlet, home of a large grizzly bear population. A comfortable passenger van will take you to viewing platforms where you can view bears feasting on salmon running up the river. A Homalco First Nation guide will tour you around and educate you on the grizzly's biology.
Back at the Lodge, soak in the hot tub and steam room. Sit in front of the fireplace and share your day's adventure with fellow guests over a glass of wine before dinner awaits you.
After breakfast the next morning, you will meet your hiking guide, grab your packed lunch and set out into Strathcona Park right from the Lodge. Your guide will teach you about the local flora and fauna. From your lunch spot up in the mountains you will enjoy a fantastic view of the mainland and Georgia Strait.
Back at the Lodge, it's time to clean up and relax tired muscles in the hot tub and steam room before dinner is served. Enjoy a drink in front of the fireplace and share your stories and the day's pictures with your fellow guests and friends.
After breakfast the next day, explore the Forbidden Plateau area just outside our door step or go for a refreshing dip in nearby Nymph Falls.
