Ullr Fest has been a can't miss family-friendly event in Breckenridge since it began more than five decades ago, and will take place January 10-13 around the downtown area. The event is a massive celebration of the season and community, inspired by Ullr, a Norse god known for his affinity for cold weather and outdoor activities. Attendees can watch the Ullr Parade, which features a variety of vibrant floats and performers, plus, multiple entertainers dressed as Ullr himself. The Ullr Ice Plunge is perfect for anyone looking to test their bravery and honor Ullr. Participants will plunge into the freezing Maggie Pond and awards will be handed out for the Best Plunge Costume. Families looking for fun shouldn’t miss the Family Snow Day that includes sledding, snacks, art projects, snowman building, and more. This year’s event will also feature an attempt for the World’s Longest Shot Ski, which had more than 1,200 participants last year. HB: The Town of Breckenridge invites snow lovers of all ages to join the party. During Ullr Fest in Breckenridge, don’t be surprised to see horned Viking hats adorning the heads of skiers and snowboarders, the biggest bonfire in town, and more than 12,000 Ullr enthusiasts.
