On the shores of Hoinville Lake in Trego, Wisconsin, the Heartwood Conference Center and Retreat is an ideal destination in northwest part of the state for anyone looking to relax while fishing, tubing down the Namekogen River, or hiking down one of the area’s many wilderness trails. But for the visitor looking for an escape into adventure and intrigue, perhaps solving a murder is the perfect activity for a Friday night.
Heartwood Conference Center will be welcoming Fearless Comedy Productions to the resort on Friday, June 3 for Mystery at the Mystery Lodge, an interactive Whodunnit murder mystery performance.
Based out of Minneapolis, Fearless Comedy Productions is an improvisation troop whose mission is to “produce comedy without limits that pushes boundaries and buttons”. The June 3 show will be the first of its kind at Heartwood Conference Center. Guests will experience the mystery unfold while enjoying a cocktail hour which is followed by a steak and shrimp dinner and desert.
Heartwood’s Director of Sales Dirk VanderBent is clear that Mystery at the Mystery Lodge isn’t a traditional murder mystery experience, “We’re very excited about partnering with Fearless Comedy Productions. I’ve attended mystery parties before, but they all involved reading plot lines and character descriptions from a card. We really wanted this experience to be less about memorization and more about a fun, interactive experience.”
Come to Heartwood for the mystery and stay for the night. A package for the murder mystery and lodging is only $199 per couple. General Manager Mike Trudeau believes the mystery performance will lead to similar festivities at Heartwood in the future, “The mystery night gives us the opportunity to introduce Heartwood Conference Center to people that may not have been aware of us. By offering such an affordable package rate, they will be able to spend additional time here, enjoying the countless activities available. We hope to offer more of these theme nights in the future, as they are fun for our guests, and fun for our staff!”
With summer creeping ever closer, it’s time to get out and enjoy the fun that mother nature has to offer in northwestern Wisconsin.
