Strive for Your Personal Best and Tour Historic Montgomery

Situated in the heart of Alabama’s stunning River Region, Montgomery’s cultural attractions and community events make it a must-visit destination. Visitors curious about the city’s role in the civil rights movement should visit the Rosa Parks Library and Museum, which features galleries, interactive displays, and a children's wing. Families looking for things to do will be enamored with the Montgomery Zoo, Old Alabama Town, and riverboat rides along the Alabama River.

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Montgomery Half Marathon and 5K presented by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing and Baptist Health is the city’s premier running event, and it will take place on March 10 in Downtown Montgomery. Participants will encounter two courses including a 5K and half marathon, both of which are certified by USA Track & Field. The courses will lead runners on a tour of the downtown areas’ beautiful scenery and attractions. Award ceremonies for the top performers in each event will take place following the races. The top performers will receive cash prizes, and the top finishers in each age bracket (15 total) will collect a performance medal. All competitors who complete the course will get a Finisher’s Medal and have access to a variety of SWAG. At the award ceremony, attendees can also shop and learn at a variety of vendor booths, eat breakfast, sip on smoothies, listen to live music, and more. The last day to register is March 9 at the Alabama Power Expo from noon to 6:00 pm. We interviewed Event Representative, Hardy Sellers, to learn more about this can’t miss marathon experience.
