ResortsandLodges had a chance to sit down with Cary Krukowski, Marketing Manager for A Taste of Colorado, and got the insider’s scoop on this amazing Labor Day weekend event.
RAL: Tell us a little about the event. How long has the event been running?
CK: A Taste of Colorado is in it’s 35th year as being the largest free admission food and music festival in Colorado.
RAL: How many annual attendees do you draw?
CK: Over 500,000 appear over the Labor Day Weekend.
RAL: What makes this event unique?
CK: It’s free. There are not many places where you can see REO Speedwagon and George Thorogood and Firefall for free all in one day!
RAL: Take me through a day at the event. What can I expect as an attendee?
CK: There are plenty of free concerts on four different stages! The kid zone activities are perfect for the little ones, while the Mountain and Plain marketplace has over 175 vendors and over 50 of Denver’s best restaurants and food trucks.
RAL: Any guest appearances?
CK: There’s going to be a Broncos Legends in the Capitol VIP Experience. September 1st features legends Randy Gradishar and Karl Mecklenburg. On Sunday, you’ll see the familiar faces of Mark Schlereth and Brandon Stokley, and Monday brings famous wide receivers Rod Smith and Ed McCaffrey.
RAL: What does the event mean to the community?
CK: This event has been a staple of the community for over 35 years, and some say this is the official “end of summer” party for Downtown Denver.
RAL: Why should people come to your event?
