Described as the "Greatest Snow on Earth," the winter provides some of the best open country and groomed trail snowmobiling in Utah. 250 miles of trails can be accessed through eight trail-heads that is becoming one of the largest and most popular venues to snowmobile in all of Utah. Possibly one of the most attractive features of the trails and open country is the scenery of the various mountain peaks within view of most of the snowmobiling area. Guests can either go out on their own to explore or go on an excursion with a professionally certified guide. Unique to their resort, Strawberry Bay offers snowmobile rentals in full-day and half-day increments with the snow typically covered from November through May. Take in the views of Mount Nebo and Mount Timpanogos as you enjoy a ride on top-of-the-line equipment!

Vista Verde prides themselves on having a 1:1 guest-to-staff ration that provides guests more opportunities to partake in the many activities. Professional guides are utilized to lead guests to the stunning sights whether it be back-country skiing or snowshoeing. Having a snow shortage won't be a problem here as the ranch gets up to 360 inches a year! Vista Verde has a fleet of snowmobiles set aside for guests to take out and explore the otherwise rough terrain that typically can't be explored in the winter. There is also an opportunity to go on either a two hour or all day excursion through the snowy landscape leading up to Farwell Mountain, crossing through the Routt National Forest on the way. Near the north east corner of the Uncomphagre National Forest is the Arrowhead Mountain Lodge, a 12 room lodge with a restaurant and full bar.

Arrowhead Mountain Lodge is snowmobiling heaven! The locals know first hand as snowmobiles are sometimes the only source of transportation around the area. Guests are welcome to pull their trailers up to the lodge and and go snowmobiling on the miles of groomed trail as well as cross the un-tracked powder filled meadows. The lodge is surrounded by the San Juan Mountains of Colorado giving guests brilliant sights to take in. After a full day out, come back to the lodge to have a cocktail with your dinner at the restaurant!

Wild Skies prides itself on offering privacy in the pastureland while still being within two miles of grocery stores and restaurants. The cabins range anywhere from an efficient studio to the Craig house than can comfortably sleep seven. In the winter, it snows between 20 - 25 feet forming a deep base for snowmobiling. Without large crowds or restrictions like they might have at national parks, the sense of freedom while exploring is palpable. There are hundreds of miles of trails ranging from mountain riding alpine slopes to bowls that can be roamed from December to May.
