Rivers Edge Cottages
With a choice of spectacular Beavers Bend locations – including log homes tucked along the Mt. Fork River banks and cabins perched high amongst the Kiamichi Mountain peaks – our No. 5 pick lets you choose your scenery. If a romantic weekend brings you to these parts, you’ll find ample opportunity to spark romance the natural way!
Candles and long-stem roses may be romantic must-haves for some, but we’d take peace, quiet and seclusion over that overplayed duo any day. Rivers Edge rentals with names like Windsong and Whispering Heights hint at the romance in store. From king-sized beds dressed in hand-stitched quilts to painted sunsets and starlit skies, Rivers Edge Cottages encourages you to fall in love the old-fashioned way - you know, before terms like online dating were even a gleam in a lonely entrepreneur’s eye! Rivers Edge Cottages offers the quintessential mountain cabin, with log exteriors and leaf-green roofs anchored by native stone fireplaces. Each cabin’s rustic exterior disguises a truly pleasant surprise: oversized Jacuzzi tubs for your soaking pleasure. Outside, even more inspired finds await, like the crystalline waters of the Mt. Fork River, which tempt even amateur anglers to wade in and reel in a tasty brown trout. Photo opportunities abound in the Smithville wilderness, while mountain biking and hiking trails offer well-traveled paths through the Oklahoma mountain peaks.

The Reserve on Eagle Creek
Oklahoma cabins in a gated community? It may read like a typo, but we promise it’s legit. Luxury like that offered by The Reserve on Eagle Creek may take some getting used to, but we’re confident you’ll come around – and back again year after year!
Designed with couples in mind, these Oklahoma cabin rentals are best suited for two. Tucked into the rugged mountain terrain, each luxurious Reserve on Eagle Creek rental plays host to the secluded getaway you’ve been searching for. With the trickling of Eagle Creek’s tranquil waters and the occasional rat-a-tat-tat of a woodpecker the only activity for miles, it’s hard to believe your Oklahoma vacation takes place in a gated community – rather than the nature preserve it passes for. As the sun dips below the horizon, snuggle up on the porch swing or gather ‘round the campfire to toast s’mores under a starlit sky. Privately-owned cabins, each with its own floor plan and personal touches, make your Oklahoma getaway truly spectacular! There’s the Treehouse, with a Jacuzzi for two tucked into its second-story loft. And Little Pond, which despite its name overlooks Spring Lake, is perfect for extended stays!
Hunting, horseback riding, hiking, fly fishing, lake fishing, ATV riding, kayaking, golf and nature tours.
Honobia is just down the road from the Reserve on Eagle Creek and has close ties to Big Foot. If you watch A&E or the Discovery channels you will see this OK city featured on their reports about Sasquatch.

Crooked River Cabins
Cozy beds piled high with fluffy pillows and light-as-a-feather duvets. Full kitchens with every modern amenity. Oversized garden tubs, walk-in showers and Jacuzzis – in addition to outdoor hot tubs. Crooked River Cabins may only offer four Oklahoma cabins, but who needs variety with choices like these?
Each Crooked River Cabins rental goes well above and beyond traditional décor. Sure, you’ll still find the log exteriors and polished pine floors that characterize other Oklahoma cabins on our list, but these Beavers Bend cabins come with unexpected surprises like antique furnishings, mosquito net-draped beds and the occasional animal print. From the French country interior of the Monte Carlo to Deer Run’s steamer trunks and hand-stitched quilts, each Crooked River Cabin is appointed with a whimsical style of décor we deem cabin chic! If having your every vacation whim catered to doesn’t sound like something you could get used to, we’d suggest a less accommodating rental company than Crooked River Cabins. Here, all your must-have activities – guided turkey and wild boar hunting, scenic kayak tours on the Glover River and casting a line in countless Beavers Bend creeks – are artfully arranged by Crooked River Cabins’ gracious staff.
Crooked River Cabins invites you to bring your four-legged and four-wheeled companion along for the ride. The surrounding trails are ideal for touring via horse or ATV.

Island Overlook Cabins
Broken Bow, Oklahoma
In place of dense pine forests, the meandering waters of the Mt. Fork River take front and center at our No. 8 spot. Whether you choose it for the scenery or have something a little more hands-on in mind, this Oklahoma river serves as an idyllic backdrop to any vacation!
Like the island that is its namesake, each vacation home from Island Overlook Cabins stretches out over the river’s crystal-clear depths. The Burgundy Cabin, which takes its name from vineyard-themed décor, will have you wondering if you’ve been transplanted from the Oklahoma cabin you came for to the heart of California wine country. That’s only until you look out your window, where the view is less vineyard and more the dense forests, jagged peak and other landmarks that characterize Beavers Bend Country. The Captain’s Quarters – a home-style lodge tucked into the OK landscape – is perfect for those looking to admire the scenery without sacrificing modern comforts. Even its living room is luxuriously appointed with plush leather sofas, a river rock fireplace and a widescreen TV. The acres of national forest that surround are home to enough nature trails to easily pass the day, especially when you’ll feel compelled to stop every foot or so to snap a photo for your vacation scrapbook!
With Wild Goose Canoeing located next door, white water canoeing the Glover River has never been easier!
Take Hwy. 70 and turn right onto Craig Road. From here you will drive about three miles to where the main road bends to the right and a side road continues straight. You will continue straight on this side road for one mile. When you come to a “T,” turn left and travel two miles. Stay to the left at the curve and go one more mile. The Overlook Island Cabins are on your right.
The lower Mountain Fork River offers year-round rainbow and brown trout in 14 miles of habitat, including a 3.8-mile catch and release trophy stretch where all boats are banned.close
Hickory Hills Cabins
Broken Bow, Oklahoma
As you step out onto the porch and breathe in the fresh air, you can’t help but think that there’s no place like home. Only your Hickory Hills Cabin isn’t home; with hot tubs, fireplaces and acres of Oklahoma wilderness to explore, it’s a whole lot better!
We hate to harp about location, but a good vacation truly hinges on just the right locale. For instance, your Hickory Hills Cabins rental wouldn’t be the same if Beavers Bend State Park wasn’t practically outside its doors. Where else would you find a nature center with crafts for the kids and miles of hiking trails as scenic as they are demanding? And it truly wouldn’t be an Oklahoma vacation without boating on Broken Bow Lake, bird watching in the Ouachita National Forest or fly casting to your heart’s content on Oklahoma’s only year-round trout stream – all just minutes from Hickory Hills Cabins. Peace and quiet may sound like wishful thinking, especially with the kids in tow, but the Serenity Cabin succeeds where few others can. Maybe it’s the great room, where little ones can play cards at the hand-carved log table while parents get dinner ready for the grill. Or maybe it’s the onsite laundry, which comes in mighty handy after a long afternoon playing tag amongst the towering pines!
If you’re more comfortable with a putter in hand, Beavers Bend courses like the Cedar Creek Golf Course and Idabel Country Club will have you teeing off in no time.
If you’ve sworn off the kitchen on your Oklahoma vacation, the nearby Beavers Bend Restaurant serves up all-you-can-eat fried catfish every Friday, along with tasty grilled trout and hamburger baskets every other day!

Broken Bow Lake Cabins
By all appearances, each Broken Bow Lake Cabins’ accommodation has been built in authentic log cabin style. But these charmingly rustic exteriors are seriously misleading! Underneath each cabin’s unassuming façade you’ll find upscale features like cathedral ceilings, stone fireplaces and million dollar views of the Oklahoma scenery.
Here on the shores of Broken Bow Lake, trophy bass and wild turkey are just a few of your vacation neighbors. Pull up a chair on your porch for a sneak peak at the rosy-hued sunset, or just sit back and admire a doe and her white-speckled fawns as they meander down the driveway.
