Meet the Guides

Ethan Peterson

Originally from a small town in North Dakota, Ethan grew up fishing every chance he got with his family. They would primary fish Devils Lake and come to Lake of the Woods often. Fishing has always been one of his favorite hobbies as well as hunting. He enjoys hunting whitetail deer, pheasants, and all sorts of waterfowl. Ethan’s favorite fish to catch is walleye. No matter how much experience you have fishing, you will have an absolute blast fishing with Ethan. He loves guiding families and has a lot of experience fishing this lake. Ethan looks forward to taking you and your group on your next fishing trip on Lake of the Woods!

Logan Sathre

If you’re lucky enough to get Logan to guide your group you’ll be set with a captain with plenty of years of experience and expertise under his belt! Logan can’t remember a time when he didn’t fish. His dad started bringing him on the boat at a young age and the passion has followed him since. After graduating LOW high school in 2022, one of the first things Logan did was get his captains license to continue his love of fishing on Lake of the Woods. Whether it’s your first or fiftieth time fishing this lake he can’t wait to show you all the tips and tricks he’s picked up over the years. When he’s not on the water he enjoys spending time with loved ones and participating in his other favorite outdoor activities hunting, derbies, and racing.

Carly Martinson

Come catching with Captain Carly! Carly has been slaying fish for quite a while now and has the track record to prove it. Her favorite fish to target are Northern Pike with her personal best coming in at 42 1/2″. Carly first moved to the area in 2017 with her family, but has been coming up to fish legendary Lake of the Woods since she was 5 years old and she’s been hooked ever since. One of her favorite things about this lake is the wide variety of fish that can be caught here. “Fishing Lake of the Woods is like kids going to the candy store- the excitement is real!” She says. Carly is currently working on getting her masters license so she can eventually guide up in Alaska as well. When she’s not guiding your crew she enjoys spending time family, friends, relaxing at Pine Island, and you guessed it, more fishing!
