China Bar Lodge located in the heart of Idaho’s largest wilderness, is the ultimate back country location for adventure on the trails, rivers and mountains of Idaho. Our resort is at rivers edge of the Main Salmon River where views are stunning while relaxing on your own private beach, you’ll gaze upon forested mountains and the free-flowing Salmon River. If you have been feeling like you and your loved ones are a little too “plugged in and unconnected” you need to visit the China Bar Lodge on the Main Salmon River. You will renew family ties with good conversations, nature walks, and evenings around a campfire. Everyone can go their own way during the day and then regroup at mealtimes to relive their adventures. You can make your stay as relaxing or active as you want and will always be surrounded by Salmon River serenity. You can relax on the deck or play along the rivers edge or you may choose to explore additional sites such as a Buckskin Bills historic homestead and trout fishing.

If you are rafting the Main Salmon River stay at China Bar lodge, mile 47 from Corn Creek launch site. Take a break from setting up camp and cooking for a night and relax and enjoy the accommodations of our lodge in the heart of the wilderness at rivers edge. Experience delicious family style meals served in the main lodge or on the deck, hot showers, flushing toilets and comfortable beds .

How You Get Here?
All China Bar Lodge adventure vacations will enjoy a 37 mile jet boat tour of the Main Salmon River from the end of the road at Vinegar Creek. This exhilarating ride through the wilderness is packed with wildlife viewing, historic stops and photo opportunities while running the whitewater with one of our experienced and fun jet boat captains.
Fishing Lodge Packages
Walk and Wade Fly Fishing for Cutthroat
This trip features great Cutthroat fly fishing from the lodge only a mile hike to the South Fork of the Salmon River at Mackay Bar in the River of No Return Wilderness. We also have our experienced guides take you by jet boat to pristine and uncrowded tributaries of the Main Salmon River, offering miles of virtually untouched water to explore. Most fish caught are Rainbows, Bull Trout and Cutthroat trout. Most of the streams are within a short jet boat ride from the lodge. These streams are very productive for those willing to walk and wade, and while the fish are not huge the fish are plentiful.

Vacation Rental
As seen on DIY Network TV Show Building of the Grid – Cabin of No Return. A new addition to China Bar Lodge the is completely self contained for those wanting to truely escape into the wilderness. We are offering this 860sq’ log cabin as a vacation rental where you can either choose to prepare your own food or have our staff at China Bar do it for you. The cabin can be reserved for 3 to 6 days and sleeps 6 very comfortably.
