Santa Rita Lodge is located in Madera Canyon, part of the Coronado National Forest. The cabins and casitas have been recently renovated. The lodge is located beside Madera Canyon Creek which usually flows from monsoon season in July through March. Madera Canyon is a rich, protected habitat that provides an ideal breeding ground for about 130 species of birds. Madera Canyon is also known for ideal hiking with well-maintained trails ranging from easy to a challenging all day trek to Mount Baldy!

Madera Canyon is a rich, protected habitat that provides an ideal breeding ground for about 130 species of birds. Birders from all over the world come here to view rare species such as Elegant Trogon, Painted Redstart, Broad-billed and Magnificent Hummingbirds, as well as the Elf and Whiskered Screech Owls. Feeders are abundant on the lodge grounds to attract a wide variety of birds.
