Sometimes there’s no better vacation than a secluded escape to a welcoming inn. Other times you’d prefer a grand resort with all the pampering amenities. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could find a stay that combines the hospitality of an inn and the cutting-edge accommodations of a large resort?
Enter Stage Neck Inn, a coastal Maine getaway that interweaves the inn attitude and the resort amenities. An experienced and dedicated staff, exceptional onsite offerings, and an idyllic shoreline location make for a premier Maine vacation destination.
Many of the Inn’s key personnel have been offering fantastic service for more than 25 years, giving them plenty of time to perfect the art of hospitality. Guests experience this long-term consistency and dedication, and for this reason, the Inn was recently listed among the country’s top bed and breakfasts. All of this comes despite the fact that Stage Neck Inn is not a bed and breakfast. With 58 guest rooms, this honor can be attributed to the small inn atmosphere and the scrumptious breakfast buffet included with lodging.
"I started working at Stage Neck Inn as a teen, met my husband who is now the Executive Chef here, and am proud to have served as General Manager with many staff who have also worked here for decades,” General Manager Phoebe Apgar-Pressey said. “We love this property and we love sharing one of the best experiences of southern Maine and coastal New England with our guests."
To go along with this wealth of experience are exceptional amenities. One of the inn's highlights includes the adjacent York Harbor Beach. This sandy oasis features a gradual decline optimal for wading. In addition, you’re treated to a view of the harbor and the comings and goings of sea vessels, New England’s craggy coastline, and the ever-powerful yet soothing Atlantic Ocean.
Onsite, make a splash in the outdoor freshwater pool or at the recently constructed indoor pool and then soothe away your stress in the hot tub. Stay in shape in the fitness center, swing away on the tennis courts, or savor the flavors of three delectable onsite restaurants: Harbor Porches, Sandpiper Bar & Grille, and the Outdoor Terrace. Enhance your experience with a rejuvenating massage, manicure, or pedicure at The Spa at Stage Neck. Elegant rooms feature British Colonial furnishings, decks or terraces, and wireless internet. Discover boutique chic at this AAA Four Diamond resort.
"Each year we close the Inn down for renovations, from sprucing up guest rooms, to our most-recent major project of expanding some of our Harbor View guest rooms,” owner Mark Foster said. “While we are unable to expand our physical footprint, we are continually working toward offering the best guest amenities within that construct. While we realize most people are looking out the windows at the view, we do not neglect attention to detail on the guest experience inside the common areas and their guest rooms."
This devotion to guest satisfaction, along with the sumptuous breakfasts, an array of amenities, and an unmatched coastal location, make Stage Neck Inn a boutique hotel with big amenities and small inn charm.
