Granny & Pa's Cabin

This secluded cabin was built in 1947 from logs grown on the surrounding 16 acres of land. On the ridge above, EW Grove had intended to build a second Grove Park Inn. Though his passing ended his plans, the switchback roads built to the site are etched into the hillside and the driveway partially follows that original access. Fully renovated, the cabin has a cathedral ceiling, great room with a stone fireplace and exposed beams, knotty pine paneling throughout, cedar-lined closets, hardwood and tile floors and fabulous views. A geothermal heat pump installed in 2012 provides instant, green energy to heat and cool. From the quiet privacy of the front porch, downtown Black Mountain is less than 10 minutes east and downtown Asheville is 20 minutes west of the cabin. For nature lovers, wild turkey and bear are regularly spotted on the property. For hikers, your adventure begins just beyond the French doors of the sun porch. For LEAF Festival attendees at Camp Rockmont, this property is adjacent to the festival site. Granny & Pa's cabin includes: WiFi, Satellite TV, dishwasher, washer/dryer, gas grill. 2 queen beds, 1 double, 1 twin
