Experience a taste of the past—hickory-smoked pork, stewed tomatoes and hot cider—at the Michie Tavern, where wayward travelers first found respite centuries ago. Grain-fed beef and rabbit meat are flavorful enough to be served alone, yet versatile enough to be featured in Richmond’s hearty Brunswick stews. Converted farm pastures and an ideal growing climate produce vintages, some made from grapes plucked from Thomas Jefferson’s vineyards, which rival those of Europe’s most notable wineries.
