How to Get Here
The Charlotte Douglas International Airport is in the southwestern part of the Heartland, and many accessible interstates are close. Head North on I-85 to reach Concord, Greensboro and Winston-Salem. To reach the state capitol, Raleigh, continue heading north on I-85 until you reach Greensboro, then head East on I-40.
Getting Around
North Carolina’s public transportation is abundant across the state. The usual choice is by bus or taxi cab, but some enjoy the excitement of a horse and buggy ride. If you’re the outdoorsy type bring your boots! The Heartland has more than 15 picturesque State Parks with rustic trails that weave through hills, hardwood forests and lakes.
