Whistler
Whistler is a terrific ski resort town. Between Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains, it is the largest ski area with the greatest vertical rise in North America, and along with Vancouver will host the 2010 Winter Olympics. Where do we start? Whistler-Blackcomb features perhaps the most sophisticated ski lift system in the world, and three new Olympics venues are open for public tours. There are four championship golf courses in the immediate area, and summer and fall mountain hiking and sightseeing tours are endless. Whistler is also home to a world-renowned mountain bike park.

How to Get Here
By air, you can access Whistler via Vancouver International Airport. Car rentals, shuttle services and the Whistler Mountaineer train are available for the two-hour trip along the scenic Sea-to-Sky Highway into the village. By road, U.S. 5/Canada Highway 99 is the most direct route.
Getting Around
Car rentals are a good idea if you’re coming by air, since you’ll need transportation from Vancouver. But once you get to Whistler, it’s easy to get from place to place via extensive taxi, limo and bus service networks. Helicopter and airplane tours are available as well.
