We couldn’t resist doing a Top 10 Arizona Vacations without including something hip, something cool, something that in today’s terms might be labeled “bomb dot com.” Hotel Valley Ho would be all of these, being that it opened in 1956 and was immediately regarded as…totally boss.

Following its renovation in 2005, you too can stay where the Hollywood stars once stayed (Robert Wagner and Natalie Wood even got married here in 1957). It retains its mid-century design with some stunning updates, such as the ZuZu Lounge, the VH Spa, O H Pool + Cabanas and The Tower, which is an ultra-luxurious boutique hotel within the hotel. All of these items were added to create modern buzz, which they do; but the original mid-century character of the Hotel Valley Ho has been perfectly preserved.

This combination seems to work pretty well, judging from the response. Publications from the Arizona Republic’s Yes Spa Guide to National Geographic Traveler have dubbed this downtown Scottsdale hotel officially hip, and therefore a must-visit on your Arizona vacation.
