Here’s a place where the White River is almost as much fun to watch as it is to fish. Of course, when you have hammocks, trees and the equivalent of a regional park outside your door, it’s easy just to let the days slip by at Rainbow Drive Resort. Isn’t that what fishing is about, anyway?
That’s not to say that things don’t change around here, though. This is the only resort on the renowned “Rainbow Hole,” 12 miles from the Bull Shoals Dam, home to huge brown trout and stocked yearly with rainbow. Depending on the dam activity, you can expect new water levels every day; you can go shoal fishing, wading, deep-water fishing and more, all on the same Arkansas fishing vacation.
On land, eight cottages, cabins and lodges are all fully modern and can accommodate couples, families and large groups. For the romantic in you, the Studio and Deluxe Studio cottages offer Jacuzzi tubs; for the family, the two-bedroom, two-bath cabin awaits. Small groups will love the lodge with loft bedroom, large dining room and living area. And for large groups, there’s a six-bedroom, three-bath lodge with big screen TV. All feature satellite TV/VCR!
