You don’t need a perfect swing or a low score to appreciate a round of golf at the Birdwood golf course at The Boar's Head. Virginia’s rich history shines onto the course and accompanies the unforgettable scenery. You’re sure to find this course challenging, majestic and loads of fun.

Before there were manicured greens, sand traps and tee boxes there were roaming cattle, fluffy sheep and prize-winning show horses. The University of Virginia acquired the land in 1974 and hired architect Lindsay Ervin to transform it into a championship golf course. Thanks to Ervin you can swing, chip and putt your way around this once-legendary farmland. The remarkable Birdwood golf course isn’t the only activity at The Boar's Head – not even close.
