You and your family will have waves of fun at the Traverse City area Great Lakes Children’s Museum. Inspired by the surrounding freshwater lakes, the newly renovated museum’s water theme is apparent throughout the building. The Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters and Great Lakes Activity Room are just the start!
From infant to pre-teen, the museum will engage your children with hands-on exhibits, creative play areas and ever-changing activities. A pint-size boat made for climbing and exploring awaits little tykes in the expansive and vibrantly-colored room. Create waves and eddies with the water table and let your little one roam in the safe and soft Toddler Beach.
Learn about the lives of bygone lighthouse keepers and then check out how the local watershed works at the interactive Listening to the River exhibit. The museum store offers exciting educational toys and a trip to the Art Pavilion guarantees you won’t leave the museum empty-handed. Materials for art activities are provided for the “make-and-take” kid creations, making your visit to Great Lakes Children’s Museum memorable!
