You’ll be amazed by the diversity at The North Carolina Museum of Art. The gallery includes ancient Egyptian art, Greek and Roman sculptures, Jewish ceremonial art and much more. Among more than 5,000 brilliantly crafted works of art you’ll be able to find something for the whole family.
The North Carolina Museum of Art received one million dollars in 1947; this made North Carolina the first state to use public funding to buy works of art. Over the years the museum has received national and international acclaim for its outstanding collection of European artwork.
Take a step out the door and into the park for poetry lessons or a game of Bird Bingo. If you start getting hungry visit the museum restaurant. The Blue Ridge restaurant overlooks sculpture and serves brunch and lunch. With so many activities you’ll have a hard time leaving.
