While the Anne Kolb Nature Center is not a free destination on our Top 10 – the $1 admission fits easily into everyone’s budget! Especially when you consider all the fantastic things you’ll have access to.
With just one dollar you’ll gain entrance first into the Exhibition Hall and Eco-Room. Here you can explore the center through the site map, a video program and interactive displays and investigations! For a look at art imitating life, venture into the gallery where monthly exhibits feature local artists’ nature-themed work. Then move on to the observation tower, where 68 feet up in the air you can get a bird’s-eye view of the mangrove wetland and coastline that make up part of the land Anne Kolb worked so hard to protect.
Follow the fishing pier trail outside and you’ll come across two piers on the Intracoastal. Here you are free to fish, but the center advises visitors to practice catch-and-release. Walking trails fill the grounds and maps are available for you to do some personal exploring. Now that is a great way to spend your day, while only spending a dollar!
