It’s true that Branson has built somewhat of a reputation as a traffic-jammed destination, but if you visit today you’ll find it’s easy to keep your sanity! A multi-million dollar effort was put into effect to disperse visitors in a less stressful way and some companies have gone even further to help.
Even for those completely helpless with maps, Branson’s color-coding system couldn’t be easier to read. Red, yellow and blue routes will take you around “The Strip” – that infamous congested highway, and get you where you need to go! Not only have alternate routes highlighted, but new four-lane highways entering Branson should ease your trip as well.
If you’d rather not find your own route (color-coded or otherwise), you’re in luck! Local planners will include with your reservations a highlighted map and directions from your hotel. Rent a car and explore GPS options or find your own back-road routes to your favorite spots. At the end of the day, if you can’t beat ‘em - join ‘em. Visit McFarlain’s Family Restaurant for a jar of Branson Traffic Jam to take home. Cranberries, rhubarb, strawberries and cherries make this, like Branson, just the right amount of sweet and tart.
