Hulihe’e Palace was once the vacation home of Hawaiian royalty – the original vacation destination in one of today’s most popular vacation destinations! Today the palace is a museum run by the Daughters of Hawaii, and is the perfect place to add a little authenticity to your stay.
The palace is made up of six rooms, and two lanai outdoors, all placed within exquisite grounds. Inside the palace you can get a look at original furniture and artifacts, as they have been for over 150 years! From original redwood pillars in the entryway that were once a souvenir from California, to the historic fishpond outside, you will find the past preserved everywhere you turn, inside and out!
Besides simply taking a tour of the grounds, you can attend a number of events on the grounds thrown by the Daughters of Hawaii. If you are visiting this summer, fall or early winter, be sure to check the calendar of events. The Hulihe’e Palace Concert Series is taking place, featuring bands, hula performances and plenty of local flavor!
