DiamondStone's Homestead Lodge is a great small group facility, perfect for family reunions. Custom 5 BR, 4.5 BAs, 2 Full Kitchens, 2 Great Rooms, 2 dining areas. All bedrooms have private baths. Up to 12 people at base price; max 20 for additional fee. Then you can rent the 2BR log cabin across the street and/or the 3BR/2BA B&B nextdoor to accomodate even more people. It is 1/2 way between La Pine and Sunriver, with easy access to Bend, 25 minutes north. Convenient to golf & Newberry Monument & Mt. Bachelor. Close to fine dining &/or groceries. Pet friendly too! Very unique and comfortable.
DiamondStone has the nearest lodging to Newberry Ntl. Monument other than the rustic lake cabins themselves. Paulina Lake is just 20 minutes, and held the record for largest German Brown Trout (15#!) in 2010. Fall River is a flyfisherman's paradise, just 30 minutes. And Cascade Lakes Highway is just a half hour to great fishing at DOZENS of gorgeous lakes with Cascade Mountain views - Elk Lake, Cultus Lake, Wickiup Reservoir, Twin Lakes, or little Hosmer Lake (flyfishing only) to name a few.
DS is adjacent to the 18-hole Quail Run Golf Course. A non-resort course, play through open meadows and pines, see deer or elk! Highly rated and competitive, it is one of the least expensive courses in Central Oregon They keep prices low to entice golfers from Bend and Redmond.
The High Deser Museum is less than 30 minutes from DiamondStone. One of the finest museums in the Northwest, they teach Native American and Oregon Trail history, and also have wild animal exhibits with mammals and birds of prey. It is so large that you can't see it all in a day. They give you a 2-day pass. There is a restaurant and gift shop.
Christmas for your family will be a warm memory. Because we host the local city's Christmas Party, the Homestead Lodge is decorated to the max with a 9' tree upstairs. At elevation 4300', we've never missed a white Christmas. And Mt. Bachelor ski/snowboard is just 30 minutes on plowed paved roads.
DiamondStone's Maluhia Log Cabin feels magical and you'll never forget it's Polynesian touches amongst the private forested 5 acres. Outdoor hot tub under the stars. DiamondStone's B&B has a 3.5 acre facility that works well for small outdoor weddings. 50-60 guests max. It's a natural lawn best for shorts & sandals and kids running around; not too formal. Then the Homestead also has an indoor space with spectacular soaring ceilings and 2nd story forest views, The "Treetop Suite" is perfect for small weddings or reception parties (has a kitchen). It works for groups of 15-30.
