High Hampton Inn features an 18-hole golf course, designed by George W. Cobb. The course features bent grass greens and their famed "island hole," regarded by Golf Digest as "One of America's Great Golf Holes." Each hole offers a unique mountain vista, making this course as rewarding visually as it is physically.

Historical

The property, upon which the High Hampton Inn now stands, was bought in the late 1800s by Wade Hampton III, considered one of the wealthiest men of the South prior to the Civil War. After a series of ownerships, the High Hampton Inn was built in 1922, and enhanced to its present state – a quiet, luxurious haven.

Wedding

Say "I Do" amidst the natural splendor of High Hampton’s gracious estate – the perfect wedding location in the Carolina mountains. Wedding ceremonies on the lawn overlooking the beautiful lake and Rock Mountain are a tradition at High Hampton. The Chef goes all out for the event, working with the wedding party to create everything from the rehearsal dinner to a magnificent reception as well as a custom-designed wedding cake. Set up a NC golf tournament for the groom and his groomsmen and luxury spa treatments for the bride to be and her attendants are all handled on-site, adding to guests’ convenience. And, Blue Ridge Mountain honeymoons are a High Hampton specialty with our private and secluded Honeymoon Cottage overlooking a small lake.
