Originally built in 1854 by architect George Veitch, The Rhinecliff Hotel initially served as a simple rooming house for travelers to the area offering sustenance and rest for both man and horse. The hotel, now listed in the National Register of Historic Places, had been in constant operation since until in 2003 when after a period of some notoriety as a raucous music watering hole, the hotel closed its doors and became quiet. At this point, The Rhinecliff emerged as today's boutique country, full-service hotel.

With only nine rooms, each is painstakingly detailed with luxurious finishes that evoke a modern retreat while still retaining its historic charm. The hotel offers spectacular views of the river from virtually every room and a complimentary full-breakfast is served each morning.
