The Historic Taos Inn remains integral to the authentic Southwestern charm and history of Taos. Listed on the National and New Mexico Registers of Historic Places, the inn consists of 44 unique rooms and suites, its legendary Adobe Bar and the award-winning Doc Martin’s Restaurant. A stay at the inn is to take a step into Taos history, and into luxury with four exquisite 1800s-era adobe buildings surrounding a glass-enclosed plaza and a spectacular fountain that was once the property’s well. The 1800s-era adobe houses that make up the inn, and the glass-enclosed lobby that was once a plaza, represent Taos’ living history. The onsite restaurant was once the home of Doc Martin, Taos’ first physician. The Taos Society of Artists was founded here in 1912; the inn opened in 1936, a bastion of Taos art and community.
