This mountain escape dates back to 1907 yet is filled with all of today's comforts! The Historic Tamarack Lodge & Cabins are tucked away in a spectacular mountain valley of Montana’s Rockies. The lodge was originally built inside the park in 1907 and was moved - log by log - to its current home. Now it's surrounded by the Flathead National Forest, with bountiful hiking, fishing and hunting. During snowy months, downhill ski through miles of trails at Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort, or try some amazing snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Marvel at the blue Montana skies and starry nights. Historical
The lodge you see today was originally built within Glacier National Park in 1907. In the 1940s it was moved, log by log, to its current location outside the park. It originally served as the visitor center for the park, and today the owners are still learning details about this interesting past!

The Historic Tamarack Lodge is now affiliated with Cabelas! Purchase your hunting license online before you go and get ready to explore the Bob Marshall Wilderness. Keep an eye out for elk, deer, cougar and bear. Antelope, moose and birds can also be found in the surrounding landscape!
