The William Sauntry Mansion is the grande dame of Victorian Stillwater. Built in 1881, this 25 room home has Queen Anne & Eastlake elements throughout. Ten fireplaces, parquet floors, original chandeliers, painted canvas ceiling, cherry and oak woodwork, many stained glass windows, and decorated in the late Victorian style. Built by William Sauntry, lumberbaron, whose life was truly a rags-to-riches story. Sauntry was a first cousin to Bing Crosby. His home reflects his eccentricities and opulence.
