Historical

The pride of the Northland Lodge is its log lodge building, finished in 1919 for the Minneapolis Hunting Club. The craftsmen who cut and assembled the huge Norway pine logs made sure that the lodge would stay standing for generations. Today, it’s “activity central” with game room, snack shop & more.

Lake

The Northland Lodge rests in an ideal vacation spot on the 57,000-acre Lake Winnibigoshish - or “Lake Winnie,” as it’s known here. You’ll find complete boat rentals, dockage, bait and more, along with the relaxed ambiance of a classic Minnesota lake getaway on Minnesota’s fifth-largest lake.

This is an enviable position for any resort - the Northland Lodge occupies federally leased land in the heart of the Chippewa National Forest. That means thousands of acres of year round nature, along with plenty of groomed and ungroomed trails for hiking, snowmobiling and cross country skiing.
