Ranch Rudolf is one of Traverse City’s first known landmarks dating back to the early 1900's. It was named after Rudolf Paziener, who came to the US in 1916. He started off as an executive chef in Chicago until a realty company offered him a job running a small ranch resort in northern Michigan. The resort had three homes on the property, two guest houses and the third one is where Rudolf lived. Today, that same house still stands and is called the Bunkhouse. In 1930, an artist from Chicago who often visited the resort named it “Ranch Rudolf”. Rudolf became a local legend and today his love for the horses and the area still shines bright.
At Ranch Rudolf you can enjoy the peaceful and rejuvenating atmosphere of nature. Explore it with an easy and exciting horseback ride. Or, if you want to explore the many trails on foot, you can do that too! There's no wrong way to get out and enjoy nature at Ranch Rudolf!
