The West Branch of the Penobscot River offers ten miles of famous landlocked salmon fishing beginning only a short distance from the camps. For those who bring their own boats, there are several attractive lakes and large ponds a short distance away. Don’t have your own boat? Frost Pond Camps has canoes, kayaks, and boats with outboard motors for rent on Frost Pond.
Experience big woods hunting in the fall for ruffed grouse, moose by permit, bear, and deer. If you are lucky enough to draw a moose permit for the September or October moose hunt in zones 4, 9, 10 or even zone 5, you will find Frost Pond Camps an ideal base! At Frost Pond, there is good access to some of the highest moose populations in the state!
Six cabins are scattered among the trees and lawn of Frost Pond Camps’ camp yard, gently sloping to the water’s edge. There is one large isolated log cabin overlooking the pond a short distance away. The cabins accommodate from two to eight people. Each cabin comes with the use of a canoe on Frost Pond!
