Branching waterways and rugged forests surround the Frost Pond camps on the remote shore of Frost Pond in the heart of Maine's North Woods. Thirty-five miles from Millinocket and three miles from any other habitation, Frost Pond Camps offer rustic cabins and ten campsites. Come step back in time when everyday living followed a calmer, quieter pace. Woods and waters in all directions provide a variety of activities for a relaxing and refreshing vacation in Maine's north woods.

Fishing

The West Branch of the Penobscot River offers ten miles of famous landlocked salmon fishing beginning only a short distance from the camps. For those who bring their own boats, there are several attractive lakes and large ponds a short distance away. Don’t have your own boat? Frost Pond Camps has canoes, kayaks, and boats with outboard motors for rent on Frost Pond.

Hunting

Experience big woods hunting in the fall for ruffed grouse, moose by permit, bear, and deer. If you are lucky enough to draw a moose permit for the September or October moose hunt in zones 4, 9, 10 or even zone 5, you will find Frost Pond Camps an ideal base! At Frost Pond, there is good access to some of the highest moose populations in the state!

Cabins, Cottages, and Chalets

Six cabins are scattered among the trees and lawn of Frost Pond Camps’ camp yard, gently sloping to the water’s edge. There is one large isolated log cabin overlooking the pond a short distance away. The cabins accommodate from two to eight people. Each cabin comes with the use of a canoe on Frost Pond!
